Southeast facing, offering sun in the morning and shade in the afternoon. Sheltered from the wind. Steep crystal laiden face climbing to the regional high point. Great views into Middle Earth, The Outlets, Sylvan Peak and Harney Peak. Extra summit anchors were placed for the Pumpfest that provide opportunities for interesting top ropes. Hornsby's Rock is the next tower to the east on this massif.
Getting There
Park at the turnout for Sylvan Lake Lodge on the south side of HWY 87/89. Cross the HWY and walk down the gravel road towards the Outlets for about two minutes. Middle Earth Overlook is the high point of the ridge of towers just left (north) of the gravel road.
