Probably the most remote area of Middle Earth, but worth the hike for the route Bil-Bolting-Baggins. Very secluded, great rock.
Getting There
(Help describing the approach would be appreciated)Follow the trail around the Outlets and up the hill to the start of Middle Earth. Instead of going down at the hill crest, take a left and follow a trail up the hillside for a short distance. You will pass Fanghorn Hills on the right. Head down the trail past Torech Ungol on the left, then past Barad Dur and Minus Morgul (currently not listed in Mountain Project) Keep heading NW for about 5 minutes until you reach the South facing Khazad Dum.
Continue walking down the "Baranquin River" drainage past the west end of the "Far Downs". Climb down through a notch then hike up and left through the valley that forms "The Shire" to "Kazad Dum".
