Arthur Grimshaw on the slab finale...lots of fun!

Description

The south side of Stoney Point, left of the trail, has four obvious buttresses, this one is the 3rd from the left. It has and obvious roof at about half height.

Photo here.

Getting There

South trail to below Spencer's Slab, take a ledge lefwards beneath the slab to te top of the buttress. Bolts and a crack for the top rope anchor.

One Stoney's best moderate top-rope problems.Getting up to the roof ironically provides the crux move; a tricky high-step with hands down low. The roof is pure fun if executed correctly. The slab above provides thoughtful moves to the anchor....[more]   Browse More Classics in CA

On 3/17/11 there are no bolts on the top, someone patched over them. There is a crack at the top where I put in a .75 green, #1 red, and #2 yellow, cams in and they were bomber. Lots of rope drag on this route even with extending it over the lip.

Wow - that's unfortunate, although it's possible to set up an anchor without bolts I think this is another good candidate for adding a good set of anchors.
