Hey guys, I plan on heading out to the Leap on Saturday and am hoping to get on Surrealistic and Corrugation Corner. My question is the snow conditions there at Strawberry, does anyone have any beta on whether or not the routes are even climbable? I plan on bringing snowshoes. Thanks!

Hello

They might be climbable, but if you want to enjoy something I would do Scheister (3 pitch 5.7) at Sugarloaf instead. There is another good 5.8 route and a few other 5.9 sport climbs. And other harder climbs. Warm this time of the year. LL would be pretty miserable right now, but I am sure if you REALLY want to climb those two routes, or want your partner to suffer, you can go there.

Sugarloaf is definitely the wintertime go to for Tahoe area.

That's one way to avoid the crowds...

I always check this webcam. saber.net/bagee/photo_frame.htm
Looks pretty good right now and the forecast for temps looks good too. Climbing at the leap in the winter is totally doable. Have fun!

Be aware that the above webcam is showing an area that is well sheltered and gets sun. Look across the street and the scene is quite different. LL doesn't get much sun this time of year.
