Hittin' Miguel's with the new Chimps in tow

A friend of mine is taking the family on a western vacation in June. They all climb at the local gym, but haven't climbed outdoors, and so are interested in hiring a guide to climb at Smith Rocks.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Since no one else has chimed in, I'll give a shout out to TMG. I haven't personally used a guide for Smith, but I know some of the guides who work for TMG, and they are all good people.

Here's another plug for some great local guides.

Check out Chockstone Climbing Guides - They are professional, and good folk.

I've run into Dave Potter from www.smithrockclimbingguides.com/ a bunch around the park. He as always been way professional as well as friendly. His clients seem like they have a good time and though he and his guides are way skilled climbers, they seem to do just as well with beginners as experts.

Chockstone/first ascent guides (same company) are great. I have climbed with them a couple of times with my family and several times with a group of boy scouts. They are excellent with kids and provide all the gear. They will set up any kind of trip you want.
