Description

A small crag located within throwing distance of the San Pedro Vista pullout. The area has three well-protected sport climbs that are fun and in some cases technically demanding for their grade. The cliff is SE facing and features an exceptional view. The cliff would see more traffic (considering its relatively painless approach) if it featured more moderate climbs.

Getting There

Park at the San Pedro Vista pullout: milepost 17.3. Head north (left side of the parking lot as you face the valley below) onto a short trail leading to the crag. Approach time is less than 2 minutes.

This is a fun route with a great view/exposure and a variety of moves. The climbing is easy off the deck but quickly turns into a technical face at approximately bolt #4. Some of the clip stances on the thin face and on the arete require precise use of feet and some smearing. Some of these clips will test the average leader, but all of the falls would be safe. The roof higher up on the climb features some great moves using block holds. Deserves more than the one-star rating given in Squeez...[more]   Browse More Classics in AZ
