Similar Ice Axe Suggestions?

Hey I got this ice axe from a friend who doesn't need it anymore: CAMP Awax Ice Axe

I want to get another one.

Well it is discontinued and I can't find one online anywhere. Any suggestions on an ice axe that would be similar to this one? I'm new to ice climbing so I don't really know what to look for. I would just want one with a similar aggressiveness and weight right?

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks!

Elevation Sierra Adventure Essentials in Lone Pine, CA may have more Awax tools in stock. Give them a call at 760-876-4560. You can also get the updated version of this tool called the X-All Mountain Ice Tool from Cassin.

Haha, Brett - I was just about to post the LP info. You are too quick!

I have a pair of the CAMP Awax, and the closest axe I've seen currently is the Cassin X All Mtn, has a different grip and a little more curve, but shouldn't feel totally different.

The CAMP X Alp has a curvature more similar to the Awax...it's a few centimeters longer than the Awax and All Mountain. It can be retrofit with the same handle as the All Mountain to make it leashless. Nobody has heard of it and I've personally never seen another pair out climbing throughout New England. The tool flys under the radar and climbs just as well as the All Mountain in my opinion.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
