Shooting Gallery Rock Climbing
The Shooting Gallery is located at the farthest left portion of the cliffs. The routes start off a series of ledges and can be reached by a trail on either side of the Tower of Babble
. Some scrambling is required to get to the base of some of the climbs and the starts can be quite exposed. Currently, there are fixed ropes on the approaches as well as along the ledges.
Note: the Shooting Gallery is named for a reason. The base of the upper Shooting Gallery is a steep, loose slope, and any rocks that get dislodged (which is a fairly common occurrence) funnel down the upper portion and eventually into the lower Shooting Gallery. Exercise extreme caution when multiple parties are climbing in the Shooting Gallery, or climb somewhere else.
Walk left from the parking area and follow the left fork at the base of the main formation up a steep slope with fixed lines. Takes about 5 minutes from the base.
