Tomas Robison pulls the final roof sequence on Pur...

Shark Bait is one of the finer pitches at the Pit, and maybe the best for the grade.

start out a roof which turns quickly into a steep scooped out section of the arete. the low crux is getting to the second bolt, and is some what intimidating, until you figure out the sequence through the myriad of pockets. A couple big moves leads you to the arĂȘte and several more engaging moves. At the obvious break, Purple Shark moves out and left, while Shark Bait continues more or less straight up, passing the redpoint crux via positive gastons, side pulls, and a few spiny nubbins.

Good consistent climbing for the grade, separated by good rests.

Starts on steep pocketed face, finishes on the right side of the arĂȘte.

8 or so bolts to chains.

I thought this route was Purple Shark originally until I did some more readying after sending it. So then I went and sent Purple Shark as well. Kind of let down in Purple Shark because I think this has more fun movement. Both great routes yet I enjoyed this one more.

The hangers are no longer purple (they have been replaced by glue-ins). For the sake of clarity, this shares the first 4 hangers with Purple Shark then finishes to the right of the arete while purple shark finishes to the left of the arete.
