Fantastic multipitch granite domes within an ancient fortress. Y. Chouinard has a route here from the 1960s. Trad as well as super run-out sport. Mostly slab and crack climbing. Camping allowed with permit. Route maps can be found in gear shops near park entrance. Do not go on Sunday unless you want crowds.

Getting There

Entrance is on the east side of Pukhansan National Park just north of Seoul. You can get there by tube out of central Seoul, get off at the stop after seracsan at either #414 at Suyu on Line 4, or #115 Dobong on Line 1. Take a taxi from here to the park entrance. Hike up the main drainage to the crags up in the summit area. Approx 45 minute approach hike. Sport climbs found immediately after the hermitage. Multipitch routes are found soon after.

P1 5.6?(last move to slab felt harder) : Fun climbing following up between two obvious grooves until a chunky move up out of the crack and then right onto slabby finish. P2 5.8: Slab start for a few metres then follows a line between the large block on the right and the tree on the left and into a crack until the anchors below the off-width.P3 5.8: The obvious off-width with bolts on the right hand side out of the crack. A physical jam. Finishes near tree. P4 5.7: Obvious crack straight up- abov...[more]   Browse More Classics in International

Taxi to the park entrance means ask for Do son sa which is in the U i dong area. Make the taxi drive you up the steep hill to the Buddha

Do (dough) son (vowel like o in horrible) sa
U(ooh as in ooh yuck) i (e as in the letter e) dong.
