Thanks! This is a great service to the community and at an extremely generous price. Given your list of questions, you could ~double the current price and it would still be a good deal. Some climbing friends and I had some fun puzzling over this rhetorical question from the above linked page: "13. While belaying a second to an anchor, could you set up a rappel and have yourself on rappel before your second arrived?" We tried to imagine how and why one would do this, striking out in the area of it simply being a multi-tasking time saver. This would likely come into play for getting down to an injured second when lowering them wasn't the best option - yes? (... or partially getting down to them if more than half a rope length below.) I see that answering Question #19 would likely include discussion of this. Again - a great service to the community. Bill L |

Also thanks for your kind words. To answer your question, one scenario that this skill might be useful is when bad weather starts moving in. Over the years I have had a few occasions where surprise storms roll in while a second was following a pitch. As you suggested, this skill is one way to begin a descent quickly. I could also envision a scenario where your answer would be just as valid ... perhaps a second gets hit by a falling rock and you decide to rap down to them to see how bad the injuries are. There are a few slots still available in the second class for those who are interested. |

Good times! |

Hey all, |
Scratch that next new cam. Take this class. |
The next class is scheduled July 7. As we are getting into Monsoon season this will be the next class will likely be in the fall. |
Took the last one despite 35 yrs. climbing. This old dog learned a bunch new tricks. Well worth a day of my time. If you do multi pitch routes or don't want to hang helplessly waiting for someone else to save your ass, take the class. I am in the process of trademarking that last phrase, so don't even think about it GH! |
Hahaha thanks Eric. It was great to have you there! |
