Looking East along the Tors Trail, from the small ...

A small crag located alongside the Tors Loop Trail, between the Lizard's Eye area and the Asgard Tor. Gritty rock (as per the Tor's standard), but two nice crack lines make this area worth a visit on your way to/from Asgard Tor.

Getting There

Located approximately 1/2 way between the Lizard's Eye and Asgard Tor, alongside the trail. When hiking from Lizard's Eye, you will come to a small rocky crest, then descend steeply down into a wooded saddle. As you rise back up out of this saddle, Second Coming Tor is near the top of the rise on the left side of the trail. The crag is easily distinguishable by a large triangular-shaped white face with a crack on each edge.

Follows the crack up the right edge of the white triangular face. A low crux which involves liebacking the leaning crack through an overhang leads to easier ground, and finally another crux pulling through the steep bit at the top (the Second Coming!). The Fairbanks Area Climbing Guide must have mixed up the grades of these two routes - the Right crack (5.8 in guide) is definitely a grade harder than the Left route (5.9 in guide), and I have submitted the routes to reflect this. YMMV.
