Description

This small spire has 3 good bolted routes in the 5.10 to 5.12 range. Two of them are Gene Larson routes.

Getting There

Follow the Trail to the North of the Boulders directly across the road from the Needles Eye. Go up the hill for about 300 yards and you should find the spire in the trees to the west of Gnomon.

Another Classic Gene Larson route. Put in before the Bosch ban from the ground up. There is a really devious stance at the bulge that Gene drilled the bolt from (he is pretty darn strong).Follow the 4 Bolts on the North East Face up and over the bulge on small crimpy holds. Great protection and really fun climbing....[more]   Browse More Classics in SD
