The chockstone guarding the path to the Schoolhous...

Description

One of two crags that faces south (the other is Super Slab), making it a nice morning crag for those colder days. A nice area for beginners to practice leading, or climbing, or just a place to stay warm. Crag has four 5.7s on it, listed from left to right.

Getting There

Follow the directions to Big Pine Wall. Walk directly PAST Big Pine wall and through a corridor, passing under a chockstone. Schoolhouse slab is actually the south end of the same block that has Big Pine Wall.

Very similar to Herby Goes Bananas (aka School Daze), but a little more difficult. The holds seamed to be a little more solid as well. Fun initial moves lead past three bolts to the anchors. Good warm up route....[more]   Browse More Classics in NM
