School in Bozeman, Boulder, or Durango for rock and mixed climber?

Hey MP,

So, I know similar questions to this have been asked, but I have to decide where to go to college in the next week. I'm looking for any climbers with experience at any of the schools.

I've gotten accepted into Ft. Lewis, CU Boulder, and MSU Bozeman, and can't decide which one would be the best balance academically and with regard to climbing. I climb pretty much everything, but I think proximity to good sport and hard mixed is most important. Don't mind traveling for the occasional bigger route.

I'm probably majoring in some geoscience, and all 3 have solid programs. Boulder would cost a couple thousand more a year than Bozeman, with Durango a lot (~10K) cheaper.

Anyone going or went to school there? How was it academically? Did you like the town? How about the climbing?

Cheers,

Chance

Ft Lewis has a good science department and durango has good climbing. while you may not find the quantity of classics in durango compared to other places, the relationship between local climber and crag is much more intimate. we have a bunch of small to mid-sized crags scattered across the area rather than one big place. there is good sport climbing and even better trad climbing.
