I'm looking to bag a late season ascent of Warbonnet Peak in the Sawtooths before the snow flies. It's a 5.7 up a spectacular peak. I've got all the gear, just need a partner.
I will have a three day weekend on September 19-21 which I think is feasible as long as you're motivated.

I can't climb it with you, but I did it a few months ago, PM me if you want any beta on the approach or the climb. And to anyone considering climbing Warbonnet, DO IT!

It will probably take you 6 hours at the very minimum to get to Warbonnet Lake from the far side of Redfish (i.e. after taking into account boat crossing) with a heavy pack. Probably more like 7+.
The routefinding on the climber's trail to get over the divide isn't trivial. Primarily because there isn't really a trail.
I think I can do it. I'm in Boise. We could leave after work on Friday night and drive up to Redfish. I could maybe leave a bit early so we could be sure to catch the last shuttle across the lake. Then maybe we hike in a few hours, camp. Wake up and push out and up, climb, descend saturday evening, camp, return Sunday? I was hoping to do the Mountaineer's Route that weekend, but, I'd go after Warbonnet for shirts and girggles. Send me a PM if that schedule could work for you.
