Hey SD folks that might know a bit about the local spots... Ill be working in SD area a few days a week, starting next week and every other week for a few months. Ill be bringing along my 10ft noserider (and) my sport climbing gear.

Any good beta on some non-chossy waves for by big gun? Looking to do some after work sessions, surf or climb!

Tourmaline Surf Park in Pacific Beach is usually a good bet. Lots of longboarders there. Best at low to mid tide.

"Dog Beach" in Ocean Beach has predictable rights off the jetty (the southern Mission Bay channel jetty).

If the swell is big, head for Sunset Cliffs on Point Loma. The summer swell is rarely big enough, but we sometimes get lucky with a swell originating in the South Pacific. Low tide decreases the depth of the reef, so unless it is overhead, probably the best time to try. Hike down the stairs at the southern end of Sunset Cliffs Blvd. at Ladera Street. "Garbage Beach" is at the stairs. Several consecutive reef breaks can be reached by paddling south.

Hey G,

I heard that La Jolla had some nice easy waves.

I'll be in SD for 2 weeks, starting the 10th of June.

I lead sport and will have my gear with me, as well as my kiteboard that I'm getting started on. Looks like Mission Gorge is the best crag in the area.

I'm hoping to find someone to climb with a few days in June. I'm a freelancer so I have a lot of free time.

I got a few longboards and a full trad/sport rack. Always looking for more climbing and surfing friends. I climb outdoors whenever possible and at Solidrock when I can't get outdoors. Surf everywhere from OB to San O. Hit me up if interested.
