Description

This crag is situated well off the main trail in the West Grapefruit area. The area is secluded and has great views of the surrounding environs. The rock isn't as slick as the rest of the area's limestone, but the rock tends to exfoliate on some of the routes. The routes are worthwhile and the setting is blissful.

Getting There

Follow the trail that leads to First Rock and continue following the ridge West as you descend the ridge line (the Pipeline is visible lookers left). The trail will split after about .5 mile, take the trail North-West into the tree line and you will come into contact shortly thereafter. Approach time 8-10 minutes.

The crux comes at you consistently through the last 3 bolts. Technical hand sequences up high with no room for footwork error makes this a superb route....[more]   Browse More Classics in AK
