Chris about to slab out to the anchor.

Description

Route of All Evil lies on the south face of the Evil Pillar, about 10’ to the left of Necessary Evil. This is a very fun easy moderate that climbs mostly on plates. Start just left of the lesser block in front of Evil Pillar, scrambling up to the right to a ledge between the rocks. From there, follow the bolt line up past large plates, veering slightly left after the last bolt. The crux is a delicate section at the second bolt, the one spot where one has to make a couple moves without benefit of the plates. Even so, probably easier than the listed rating. Rappel to descend.

Protection

4 bolts, bolted anchor.

Real Fun approach through a cave. The beggining of the route can be a fun chimney opportunity, with the first bolt looking mighty attractive.

This route has a great mix of super hand-holds, esthetics and slabby top out. A pretty neat combo for the grade and worth doing if you've hiked up there for the uber mega classic next door. Mystery bolt behind you at the block as you start up which is not needed, perhaps it's a belay bolt?
