Sandstone boulders V0-V3. This is a good place to stop while on a road trip. Not a destination.
Getting There
Rock City is about 20 minutes north of Salina, Kansas. From I-70 go north on 81 to 18 go east on 18 about 6 miles to 106, go right on 106, after about 5 miles on 106 go left on the dirt road to Rock City. There are signs on 106.
This place is pretty fun. Locals were quirky...My girls and I stopped here for an hour or so whilst jamming cross country. Albeit it was spring and not terribly hot, but we had a blast bouldering and I got a break from driving!
This place is for real. I live in the Twin Cities with loads of climbing and I found some problems that really pushed my limits. Climbed for a solid 3 hours. Could have spent the whole day there.
On our drive from CO to Lawrence, KS, we stopped on the way there and back to stretch the legs. Fun place with 12 climbable boulders and about 40 problems from V0 to V3, and maybe a V4 here and there. I really enjoy arriving at an area with no beta to climb whatever looks fun. I uploaded an amateur video here:
Directions are good, except you have to go West on 18!!! Luckily there were signs. Bring bug repellant...
Problems are harder than they look. Once above the "equator" there are lots of slopers. You can get a good pump here. Wish it was in my back yard (not enough to move here though).

Not a destination by any means but a great place to stop and stretch your legs while driving on I-70 especially if making the pilgrimage from Illinois to Colorado. There are maybe 30 or so problems all V4 or under with sweet, flat, grassy landings. The boulders are a bit of an anomaly as well being a small boulder field in the middle of the pancake flat prairie that is Kansas.
