Can anyone recommend me a RMNP guidebook that has mostly ice and snow climbs? I have Cameron Burn's book but I know there has to be a more up to date guide that is more in detail and pertains to only RMNP. Cheers
I had the same question and went to the good folks at Neptune Mountaineering to get their input. They said that the only book on the market for RMNP alpine, ice, and snow climbing is "Rocky Mountain National Park: High Peaks: The Climber'S Guide" by Bernard Gillet.
I bought that book and the complementary book for the lower elevation stuff in the park. Personally I think that the maps are off, approach descriptions less than adequate, and the route topos okay. I wish there was a more modern book out there!

Whatever happened to the new Rossiter guide that was supposed to be published by Fixed Pin?
At least one of my older Fixed Pin books (Black Hills guide, I think) has a picture of the RMNP guidebook on the inside cover with the words "Coming Soon" across it. Sure would love to see that book...
Nevertheless, the older Rossiter guide is a pretty good supplement to the Gillet books.

I have "Rocky Mountain National Park: The Climber's Guide" by Bernard Gillet, c1993 and "100 Select Classic Rocky Mountain National Park Climbs" by Michel Stevens & Fred Knapp, date? I'll sell either/both. If interested make me an offer.
