Was out butchering Nylon tat out in the Dias and replacing em with some spare cord I had lying around. The NW anchors only had a single biner so I replaced em with two BD ovals I had. Wondering if any of you know who the owner of the biner is so I can return it to him/her with thanks.

Yours,
Supra

Shudder. The things people rap off of...

Lovely...

Doing the deed.

I hear you Killis, but I figure I'd give it a shot anyway. Karma and all that. Believe me, the crap that's happened to me, I need it. I'm still making up for my previous lives.

As an aside, despite the coloration, and I admit it's quite colorful, the cord is all but invisible. The tat...not so much. I may or may not change it this week when I go back to finish removing the tat off the top anchors and replacing it with new webbing.

An Update.

The Upper anchors were finished today. All the old Nylon tat was removed from the top of the Chimney. The Rappel Station just below the top was cleaned of all of its tat excluding a decent looking cord. New webbing was added and two oval biners installed. the old rap rings are still on the cord.

BITD they used real nuts!!

What a pita.

Old cord alongside new webbing. Easier to check.

Will rappelling off our handiwork. Looks like it'll hold.

What a sweet score! Gotta love all the old mank.

How did that rattan practice sword work out for you, Supra?

I use one every day around the house. Very good tool to have for many occasions.

It makes a great walking stick and it's a JIC piece for those rare, or in my case, not so rare animal encounters. When harsh language isn't enough it's nice to know that I've got a little something to deal with predators, both animal and human.

Say, as long as you're giving gear back, can I have my 3/4"-10 nut back ? (It might have been 16 thread.)

My rack is getting sort of slim these days and at the current cost of gear...

Seriously- belated thanks for the anchor maintenance.

Lol! I'm pretty sure it's found a permanent home in the bottom of my rope bag. I've been meaning to go back and finish the second rap statiion on the chimney as well as reconfiguring the top anchor so that those interested in rapping the east side can do so again. Talks around the water cooler implied that that was a popular option. My bad for removing it. I'll rectify that in the coming months.
