Replacing a Grivel Monster pick on Quantum Tech Ice Tools

So I've finally worn out my original picks for my Quantum Tech ice tools. When I tried to put the new heads on the shaft, they do not fit flush. I've avoided trying to use the bolt and nut as hand torqueing did nothing to shore up the gap and im afraid of stripping out the threads. I thought about filing but I figured I would ask here first before I start taking material off. Any suggestions?

file down just what you need on the blade.....but not on the carbon shaft obviously
