That's not true...I think he's a tool for returning them in the first place AND because he's bitching about not getting the same shoes in return. | FLAG |

| Dude... abuse ruins it for all of us... there's no way in hell I'd ever let you return a pair of resoled shoes... EVER! I would even make a point to tell the REI associate not to do it... | FLAG |

| so five years ago i used a 20% off coupon and my dividend to get a new set of shoes for free. last week I returned them, after removing the duck tape that was holding them together mind you, and wanted to use a new 20% off coupon with the full value of the returned shoes. The lady was so stoked i was returning them, but she said i couldn't apply all the coupon to a full rack, only one cam and I was like WTF? So then I went and gathered all of my old camping gear and whatever I could find in the dumpster, returned it all, and bought a new rack for free! But I think that I shouldnt have to do all that work. REI FAIL | FLAG |

| Kyle B. wrote: AND, I had to pay full price. There was no return money involved. I bought those shoes for full price and had to pay full price to special order them. LOL!!! So, you bought the shoes at FULL PRICE 3 years ago, returned the shoes resoled 3 times at FULL PRICE now, and use that FULL PRICE money to pay for the new FULL PRICE shoes. Therefore, there is no return money involved? What? You want to return/exchange old shoes with new and also some cash back!? | FLAG |

| You are a tool for both returning them and complaining. Get over it, stop defending your silly rant, and realize that REI can't carry every shoe you want them to. They cater to the masses... duh. Also, complaining about their customer service is ludicrous. You expect them to come up to everyone milling around during the busy weeks of a 20% off coupon and dividends? Talk about trustafarian! Go ask someone to help you, and they will do a great job. I had a great experience at REI this past weekend where fitting shoes for my g/f the sales lady not only pushed a cheaper shoe than we were looking at, but provided ample support for choosing the shoe and it ended up working out great. | FLAG |

| This is almost as bad as my buddy who wanted to return a pair of worn out boots while hiking the A.T. He was saying " i only got 1000 miles out of'em " I said don't be a jackass, buy a new fucking pair. They are beat to shit and you're trying to take advantage of someone. | FLAG |

| I don't normally get involved in flame-fests, but this is one of the most ludicrous, privileged and entitled-sounding posts I've ever seen. YOU are exactly the kind of person who would be a so-called 'trustafarian' if you HAD money. Are you even slightly self-aware? Meditate on your post, and pay additional credence to everyone's responses, and maybe you will gain some insight into why your behavior is leeching on both REI and your community. | FLAG |

I'd say 3 years and 3 resoles is a DAMN good use of rock shoes," This is where you overplayed your hand. This isn't an exagerration of an incident or a one sided retelling. This is complete and utter fiction made to illicit a strong response. It has been very well done and I am a bit envious. You're probably right, this is a fabrication. But it is not out of the realm of possibility. I had a climbing partner who tried to return a fleece jacket to REI. The fleece was probably ~10-15 years old and the zipper had finally blown out. The manager told him no, that the "lifetime" return policy was for the reasonable lifetime of the product and not for his lifetime (which was kind of funny given his age). | FLAG |

| Your abuse of the return policy is probably why REI no longer carries Miuras. I am simply shocked at your attitude. Shocked! Appalled, too. Oh, incidentally, you can take Germ Free Adolescent SDS off your tic list. I tried it the other day and couldn't even do the opening moves, so I hammered all of the holds off. Stupid boulder. | FLAG |
