Re-lacing La Sportiva Spantiks?

Anyone ever done this? Both of my shell laces have broken and its a hassle to tighten them after simply tying them together.

Any recommendations on type/size of laces or cord to re-lace them? Any tips/tricks to the actual process?

any 2 or 3 mm cord will work just fine.

Just in case you don't want to improvise something, you can get a replacement set of laces from Sportiva for Spantiks.
