House Boulder

Description

Large bluff line with big sandstone boulders scattered about. Established problems are all over, but there is still lots to explore, and hard stuff to be done. Access is good, you can see some boulders from the road.

Getting There

East of 14th Ct in Adams Cty. See directions on Central Sandstone page.

Really cool and interesting area. Some of the rock like the house boulder is pretty high quality for Wisconsin and has a quartzite/sandstone feel to it. These boulders have really cool grassy landings.

Much of the rocks on the bluffs is more reminiscent of Governor Dodge in that the quality of the rocks is lower and more sandstone-y.

The boulders here are quite amazing and exactly the opposite of the Dodge in quality. I agree that the cliff line is about Dodge quality though. Great area! Great concentration of quality boulder problems.

Can this be split into Area's please?

I suggest, "House Boulder Area", "Sawyer's Boulder", "Main Cliff West", "Main Cliff East", "Star Destroyer Area" and "Kutcher's Bluff".

Sorry, in the Black Hills. Good idea. I can create and populate the areas, and assign them to you Nick to order the routes and write the descriptions? I will get to this when I get back in early July.

Please be patient while we try to get this better organized. Nick let me know if I put a problem in the wrong area. I think I got them all right but wasn't familiar with a couple of the lines.

I have sorted all of the routes L to R but I think Mammoth and Sharks Tooth currently in the Kutcher's Area should be moved to the House Boulder Area. Am I right on this?

Also, please check my sort for Main East, I couldn't recall if the Proj cave was farthest left or not.
