Description 

Very popular area in the Elbsandstein region due to its beautiful setting. You will find small and big summits and many impressive walls. This area offers a lot of face climbing.

The rock is very soft sandstone, it needs a couple of days to dry off after rain. The rock quality varies between solid and sandy.

Getting There 

By car: Parking possible close to Rathen or Bastei.

By train: Get off at Kurort Rathen and take the ferry across the river.

From Rathen, head towards Amselgrund and then make your way according to the maps in the guide book (depending on what summit you are headed for).
