Description

Queenstown is found on the southern end of the South Island. It is sometimes called the adventure capital of New Zealand due to the wide variety of "extreme" tourist attractions found in the area. There are a number of quality climbing area's within an hours drive of the city.

Wye Creek offers interesting sport climbing on compact schist for those willing to hike. The Remarkables are within reach for those looking for multi-pitch alpine adventures. There are also a handful of smaller crags sprinkled around the valley.

Getting There

Queenstown is located in the southern third of the south island off of the large Lake Wakatipu.

Reach up and over with your right hand to an in-cut crimp above your left hand, left hand to a crimp directly above right, set your left foot into a quartz spike and reach out right to gain the small chicken-head hold inside the over-hang. Shift your left hand from the crimp into the side-pull (all in the one...[more]   Browse More Classics in International
