Description

Mostly short easy topropes, and a cinch to set up, this is an excellent place to take beginners. If you are planning on spending a Saturday toproping somewhere, please go here instead of Elephant Rock.

Getting There

I think it is campsite 19 that is sheltered on three sides by this rock. On the west face are the climbs. The east face (down through the camp) offers the easiest descent and access to the topropes. Please be courteous to people camping in this campsite.

Beginner Slab 5.4 4a 12 IV 10 VD 3c  ID : City of Rocks : Practice Rock
There are a number of lines ranging in difficulty from 5.easy to maybe 5.4. A commonly used line starts at the lower left side of the little flatiron-like slab and angles up and right to the belay. There is really no fixed route since it is possible to climb just about anywhere on the face. This is excellent for rank beginners and teaching slab moves and developing footwork....[more]   Browse More Classics in ID
