Location photo in relation to Rifle Arch.
Located across the gully from Rifle Arch to the east. There are two bolted routes that share the same chains. There is a southern exposure so climbing is good here most of the year. It can get a little hot on the hike in during the summer months.
Drive north of Rifle on CO Hwy 13 to Meeker. Park at the pullout for the trail on BLM land to the Rifle Arch. Follow the trail to the Arch then cross the gully to the east to reach the bottom of the face.
The trail in is approximately 2 km to the arch then another 400 meters across the gully.

The hardest moves are at the bottom. This route is very typical of other routes around the arch. The sandstone has sharp, ridge features and flakes that tend to pull off if you don't handle them gently. After the first few bolts, the route eases up and it is an easy cruise to the bolts at the top. There are two bolts without chains. There is potential for more pitches if one was so inclined to add more bolts. We named this route in dedication to our dogs, the Fuzzy Babies....[more] Browse More Classics in CO
