posting

how do you start a post? I know how to reply, but I want to post a LOST post....

Which brings me to another point. WTF is with the lack of a FAQ page? I tried using the search button but my request is vague enough to bring up a crap ton of irrelevant strings. I know forum stuff is old news by internet standards but sheesh, is it that hard to put together a quick FAQ talking about some of the features of posting to forums in general and MP in specific? Am I just missing it too??

"Post Reply" button at the top left and bottom left of the page.

I was having the same problem for a long time recently despite having posted many times in the past. It turns out, whatever flavor of google chrome I have does not display the "new post" button, it shows up in IE or firefox, just not chrome. Not sure if that is your guys' problem or not.

Tom, same thing goes for "post reply" in chrome, there is no button, only "quote." I usually push quote then delete the quoted text.

Thanks for this advice! I noticed a week or two ago that the "New Topic" and "New Reply" buttons were gone, and I thought they were just restricted for new users... something that is common in other internet forums to prevent people from signing up to spam the boards or for new users to flood with new questions that have already been answered a million times.

Any chance the Mods could take a look at why Chrome isn't displaying the buttons? Thanks!

Yes, only way I can post today is to press quote then erase the quote

Same problem here. The button is actually still functional and click-able, it's just invisible. For whatever reason the image just isn't loading in Chrome.

Speaking of Chrome (Google), do you ever wonder what is holding them back from sending everyone a monthly invoice just to keep your browsing history private?

That'll never happen. Nobody would use it if that were the case...Mozilla would become the most popular browser yet again in no time.

I'll run MP in FFox for now, or make do with quotes. Thanks for the sanity check!

This is a confirmed bug in the latest version of Chrome (released 5 days ago). We have adjusted the two images to prevent the bug from effecting those images. If there are other images that are effected (i.e. missing!), let us know.

Refresh the page if the buttons are still missing.

I use a Toshiba laptop that was configured to update automatically. IE-10 was pissin me off so I had the missus help me get rid of it.
'Puter seems to work fine now and won't allow auto updates.
Not sure if this was a site bug?
