Russell nearing the main crack line

Add Photo  Add Comment    Printer View

Description

A slightly overhanging climb that starts with a big move on a partially detached flake. Continue up a few feet of face climbing to the obvious crackline which widens from fingers to hands to fist, then arm and body jams. Lots of great small ledges offer rest and security.

Protection

gear to 5" for the climb (gear to 2" for anchors)

I fun variation to this route is sticking to the left side of the crack (not using the crack at all) from the right slanting ramp on up to the top. Don't know how a lead would go, we TRed it.
