No estimate of the retail or wholesale value of the stuff... let alone what it is, even roughly.

You did read the whole article, right? We can assume that the value is at least $32K and you can find out what is included:

If you bid: The sheriff’s sale is a bulk sale, meaning potential buyers must bid on all the items. The minimum bid is $31,530.62 and bidders must produce proof of the funds on the day of the auction. Bidders must sign up with the sheriff’s office in advance. The sheriff’s office can provide a list of items, but inspection won’t be until the day of the auction at the Breckenridge Mini Storage at 156 County Road 450, Breckenridge. The auction begins at 10 a.m. on July 29. For more information, read the legal notice published in the July 9 Summit Daily.

It's a shame that Olivier and Anna Sofia Goumas were not tied behind a pickup and dragged to Breck and back again on Highway 9. Or at a minimum, tarred and feathered.

Keelhauling seems appropriate.

16,000 items. Pretty sure that means that only other outdoor gear dealers have any reason to show up. But it won't be hard for a pile of outdoor equipment to average well over $20 per item, so the $31,500 minimum bid is probably a pretty great deal.

The article states 1,600 items (not 16,000)

Uh, yeah, sorry slipped a comma when writing. But I had the number right when I worked it out: 1,600 items, with $31,500 minimum bid, means you're paying $20/item. Which is probably a great deal from an outdoor retailer looking for stock.

I'll kick in $20 if another 1599 Black Box climbers want to join me and we can divvy up the loot.

Yeah, and you did read my whole reply, right?

Marc801 wrote:We can assume that the value is at least $32K
Can we? Would that be retail or wholesale?
And what makes you think I'd even want to pay wholesale specifically for items that might have been those harder to sell, and certainly not the latest stock available at this point, once on a shelf and standing some time into a bankrupcy?

So I'd have to invest a bit of time to figure out if it is even worth investing that bit of time.
If they have a list, they should publish it.

I recieved the inventory list from the lienholder (person who was owed the money and person who took everything away in a truck and put it in a "locker" . I also recieved the list of what was in the locker from the Sherriff. There is a HUGE discrepency!! OVer 500 items are now suddenly MISSING. The value of the remaining inventory that the sherrif list shows is only about $60000 while the debt is $30000. So now this is not a steal or even a great value, since all of this inventory is 1 to 2 years old and not a continuous size in all options. Then you have to factor in time and effort selling all of it. We all need 200 bars of wax worth 1 each don't we !! haha Not to mention I don't know who to trust in this and I am having a hard time believing that 1500 items can fit in one 10X10 locker.

Don't believe anything that anyone else tell's you about this, as what I am posting is 100% factual. I have given the lienholder the opportunity to clarify this and he hasn't responded yet with anything concrete other than "there must be a misunderstanding"

If knowone bids higher on this, that means he got over 170K of inventory (the original value of all items he sent me and I have verified by reasearching each item) for only being owed a $30K debt, a HUGE windfall for him..So people got screwed by 123 mountain, but the debtor also got FAR more than he was owed. I guess in a way he deserves to be compensated, but geez, thats a HUGE windfall

This deal is getting more slippery by the day !

Arent there like 20 people with default judgements against 123mountain? Wouldnt the additional funds raised go to those debtors?

I find nothing wrong with this.

Goumas screwed him. He used the law to get a judgment in his favor and his request to seize merchandise was granted.

He took the merchandise and is now selling it. Good for him. So what if he sells it for more? He won his case. I bet his legal bills to win this must have been pretty substantial too.

He is one of the main reasons an injunction was successful, 123mountain was shut down and the Goumas are on the run.

Nice day, we came in second. Lots and lots of boots and helmets and racing gear. And jackets and pants...

Also a sweet commemorative Grivel Piolet.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
