Sorry, but I can't help but boast about my friend, Chuck Calef, (turning 67 in March) who yesterday led Mononucleosis (I think it's called) at the Playground in White Rock. It's the face just left of Burnt Crack, down at the far left end of the cliff. It starts with a boulder-problem arete and then moves up onto the concave face. Chuck used old-wave gear .small wires and tri-cams . I could believe it's a "first lead" for this climb (the quality of the photo isn't very good. Jamie was filming above Chuck )
Proud indeed! I don't believe I've seen anyone lead Mononucleosis before. Way to go Chuck. I updated the route description here to include the FRA (first recorded ascent) information. I hope you'll post a link to the video here when Jamie gets it online!
