Description

Overhanging for most of it's length, this side of the formation houses an impressive collection of challenging albeit short routes from 5.9 to 5.13b, with the majority of routes 5.12 and up.

A number of these routes were old toprope problems (hence the name of the wall) which eventually got bolted into leads making this a great venue for the 5.12 and up climber. Some of the better lines here include Apartheid (5.12a), The Watsusi (5.12c), Baby Apes (5.12c), Tribal Warfare (5.13a) and Moonbeam Crack (5.13a).

Routes from left to right:

Dimp for a Chimp (5.11a)
Moonbeam Crack (5.13a)
Baby Apes (5.12c)
Rastafarian (5.13b)
The Watusi (5.12c)
Dial Africa (5.12c)
Apartheid (5.12a)
Tribal Warfare (5.13a)
Buffalo Soldier (5.12c)

Further right past a broken section of rock is:

The Hanging Turd of Babylon (5.9)
Handygland (5.10a)
Take the Pain (5.13a)
Kalkowski Crack (5.10d)

Getting There

See the Peyote Cracks Formation page for detailed approach information.
