Just got a new pair of Petzl Vasak crampons and looking for some info on what is recommended for the length of the front points from the front of my boot soles for waterfall ice climbing.

Any recommendations for what is a good length of such?

Longer= "better" for ice, shorter = "better" for rock/mixed (less leverage). If you had three settings I'd say go in the middle. But the vasak only has two. Just pick one and see how you go. If the toe of your boot is hanging over the secondary points so they'll never touch ice ever, then move it back.

OK thanks - sounds good. That's about what I figured esp since waterfall ice is fluted and such versus snow conditions, etc.

: )
