BETA PHOTO: View of wall from the parking pullout.

This small wall currently has three routes, two sport and one trad. The rock is your typical Burro Canyon Sandstone and is slightly taller than most other routes on 9 Mile Hill. There are two dark colored petrified logs exposed in the cliff here.

A. The Normal Life, 8+, 1p, 55', bolts.
B. My Weekend World, 7, 1p, 50', bolts.
C. Coiled and Ready, 7+, 1p, 45', gear.

Getting There

From Whitewater, turn onto CO 141 heading toward Gateway and drive approximately 6 miles up the canyon (about 1 mile up from the Bone Park). Park in a large pullout just past a guard rail. From here, the wall is easily seen on the east side of the road.

Per Michael Schneiter: from the south (from Gateway or the Unaweep granite), it is 3.5 miles from the Cactus Park turnoff to the parking lot for the Petrified Wall.

Climbing Season

For the Nine Mile Hill area.

Weather station 12.8 miles from here

If traveling from the south (from Gateway or the Unaweep granite), it is 3 miles from the Cactus Park turnoff to the parking lot for the Petrified Wall. Parking lot will be on your left when going down the hill.
