Mikolaj pulling through the crux on the 4th pitch....

Description

The Perrons of Vallorcine are a series gneiss peaks located directly North of Chamonix exactly following the Swiss-French border. This mountain range is home to a number of moderate multi-pitch sport routes and trad climbs.

Getting There

To get to the Perrons from the parking lot near the Lac d'Emosson dam. Follow the road across the dam. Follow the path for about 500 m at which point you will follow the signs to Chalet de Loria. The trail will be marked with yellow blazes and continues up and down. The difficult sections are equipped with metal steps, chains, and bars to make the hike easier. After about an hour, Grand Perron will come into view on your right.

La Ballade des Gens Heureux 5.10c  International : France : ... : Perrons de Vallorcine
This route follows a beautiful line up the south face of The Grand Perron. In general the rock quality is very good with a few exceptions on the last pitch. Some of the guide books suggest that a few cams or nuts could be useful, but the route easily doable without any additional protection as all the difficult moves are very well protected. P1 (5.9): Start at the obvious bolts at the beginning of the climb. Continue up a somewhat delicate face (the crux) to a horizontal fissure in the wall.
