This is the very small tower on the southwest side of the road almost a mile before you get to the Kane Creek crossing. It is on the main road approximately 100-200 yards away from the Happy Turk formation.
Getting There
Driving south into Kane Creek Valley on the right side of the road about 1 mile before you get to Kane Creek. You will see the Happy Turk formation out on your left.
Climb a very easy crack via free moves or clean aid for about 10 feet to a ledge. Walk left about 10 feet to the crack with pins. Follow this up 10 feet until it traverses right to another pin, then pull over the top onto a very loose summit.This is a good route if you are really bored, looking for an easy tower to solo, or if you just want an introduction to desert rock. I've done this short, dirty, pathetic climb. It IS a desert tower...(barely...), and it IS very close to the road. Kane Springs area is very beautiful, but as far as the climbing;....it pretty much sucks. If you are bored and are a greedy-goat desert tower summit collector...(I admit it;..I am..)....then this climb is for YOU!......(Now you are probably curious enough to go do it;......you are sick and need help, my friend...) Cam Burns and his Putterman climbs......he must be one twisted fellow.....I've done a number of his climbs........
