Description
This mega classic melodrama was named after Patty Parmalee. It is a dramatic series of corners, cracks and sharp arete climbing. Not as accessible as say Challenge Buttress, but the approach is worth the time and the experience is worth the wait. Fun for all ages and abilities. Saddle up and enjoy the ride!
Expect a 20 minute approach and plenty of exposure once on the ridge. A varied single rack will suffice and a 50 or 60 meter rope is enough. Pack some shoes for the descent, as a walk-off into the gully south of the ridge is the preferred exit.

Getting There
Follow the Stairs Gulch trail or approach and use the The Dead Snag crag as a marker. Continue up the trail until the Dead Snag is well behind you and you run parallel to Vector Madness Wall. From here, continue up the trail til you see a sharp, low angled ridge. Patty's Ridge comes into view on your right. Follow a faint trail to the base and locate a right-facing dihedral that marks the start. See the beta photo for a visual, but the ridge is very difficult to miss.
