Dave is the quintessential hardman, and has put up three hard unrepeated El Cap routes solo - Atlantis, Block Party and Dawn Direct. He currently resides on some miserable 1200m-high overhanging wall in Patagonia, hoping to make the first ever solo ascent of a Grade VII big wall.
