| WHEN- next year WHAT- spend a weekend dropping into a canyon overnight (maybe two), goldpanning, climbing out the next day ABOUT ME- been climbing about a year and a half, so pretty sure i qualify as a noob. Yay. Getting up most 10s and the occasional 11 indoors, leading 7s outdoors, but have no reliable partners to get out with. Just amassed a shet ton of gear, including pins and other aid which Ive n ot yet used (see partner issue above), and have read and practiced self rescue skills. Climbing library includes FOTH, climbing self-rescue, anchors by long, on rope, and tahoe area guides. Yeah, I,ve read them. I have a girlfriend, who climbs some except we also just had our first child, thus the partner problem. Mellow, easy going, but doggedly persistent. Also irreverent toward forums. politically neutral, opinionated, leaning left. Enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking, climbing, etc. Probably will carry a 44 on this adventure. Cant guarantee there will be gold, or that the climbing wont suck. May have to aid out, or even bail. Saw a group upstream on SPI land running a highbanker, armed with AR,s though. Didnt bother to ask about their recovery. There are also small trout if you fish. I might be batshet crazy, but this is my goal. ABOUT YOU- have no issues with the above. NO drugs. In it to have some fun regardless of the outcome. Dont care if we end up aiding or fixing pins, with the goal of enjoying the trip and coming out safe. Thanks for reading it all at least, John C | FLAG |
