Rich Beukema is a local Okanogan physician, whom you might look up. He's solid. Phil and son, Dan Gleason live in Tonasket, and have a great bouldering area up McLaughlin Canyon. Phil works at the hospital in Tonasket, and is an old time Yosemite climber.....If you hook up with either, then you will be there.

There's also an Okanogan Climbers group that you can check out, and get to know folks.

Tom Smith is a paramedic in Twisp, who would be a great connection. He's solid, and knows all of the Okanogan folks....There's a FB climbing group that he put together. He's also on FB.

Good luck!

Eli, My pleasure. You are actually located in a great place. Besides the local Omak crags, there's McLaughlin Canyon, Mt Hull, and the brilliant Skaha crags up in Penticton, not to mention all of the climbing at WA Pass.....Enjoy!

So I'm in Riverside, WA now. Looking for someone that would like to do some winter bouldering perhaps up in McLaughlin Canyon(or anywhere else nearby!). Feel free to send a PM. I've got one Pad.

What is the name of the FB climbing group in the Okanogan area? It it Climbing Okanogan?(This doesn't look very updated)

Hi Eli, The FB page for "Climbing Okanogan" was started last summer by a local guy just getting into climbing, but its not very active. The Methow page ("Methow Valley Climbers") however is, and I have just started a sister page called "Okanogan Valley Climbers" which can replace the previous Okanogan Climbers google groups which has recently become less active. Hopefully the Facebook venue will be easier to use, and serve as a good resource for climbers to meet and to share info on new routes... James
