The backside crack on Pantshitter Splitter is a re...

Description

From the top of Castle Rock, you will spy this spectacular, perfectly split boulder with a fantastic uniform hand crack running its length. In your excitement upon seeing it, you may actually soil yourself. After approaching, you may be disappointed to discover that the problem is very low-angle.

Run up the crack, then head around back for dessert; a short, grainy hand crack that goes at 5.8 for about two moves. With some effort, you can eke five or six moves out of it.

Probably better than Double Cross.

Location

Visible below the West Side of Castle Rock Summit

Protection

You will definitely want a spotter on the devious backside crack

Easily as good if not better than Double Cross!

I heard the FA required a bivy half way up. This thing is already earning a fearsome rep.

I was erroneously looking for this west of Castle Rock until I remembered the post saying it was visible from the summit - I scanned the horizon only to see it right before my eyes just a few feet down and west of the actual summit.

Nice little problem, no complaints except for the unfortunate name.
