I'll be working in Seattle Mon-Fri almost every week now for quite awhile. Long term contract.

I want to get out!! Primarily during the week. I will be around some weekends, but I don't know where the post-work climbing exists. I've got a full set of gear. I can get off by 4:00pm usually.

I'll go as often as I can find someone.

Check out Exit 38 one hour east on I-90 from Seattle. Tons of variety. Traffic can be a bitch getting out of Seattle anytime, anyday. If you are on the east side you are in better shape for missing traffic. Falcon publishes a guide to Washington State that is a great overview of most places. I would get a seperate guide for Leavenworth and North Cascades though. I would recommend spending some three day weekends at Squamish too. I moved away three years ago but spent seven years climbing in Washington so if you are looking for specific info (sport/trad/what grade/alpine?) let me know and I can give you some suggestions.

There is also a outdoor bouldering wall at the UW.

Thanks for the info darryn. I've found and used the local gyms, but nothing beats rock. I think I'll take the areas you recommended and make some runs out there, and at least boulder/psuedo-boulder. Hopefully I can find some guys to go as well.
I work in Lynnwood (intersection of I-5 and I-405) so hopefully can make some good time out.

Racked and loaded... name that splitter behind me? Hint, its on Supercrack Buttress

Head on over to Index Town Walls.

A little over an hour from Seattle. Splitter granite cracks 5 minutes from your car!

I love the place... as long as it isn't raining :)

a view from the 2nd pitch. "eric the rep" on belay.

Hey - i have heard that Mount Si/ Little Si has sport climbing in the area. There was some past activity putting up routes. actual location and quality you will have to determine, but i have heard that for the rain soaked seattle locals that this provides some relief.
cheers,

I don't live in seattle anymore, but when I did I found that cascadeclimbers.com was a great resourse for getting NW climbing information and meeting partners. good luck.
