I know that Joe Leuthold and friends made the first ascent on St. Peters Dome in the Columbia River Gorge in 1940, and I and friends made the second ascent in 1947. I am very curious how many other climbs have been made on St. Peters Dome, who made them, and when. It would be good to compile a history of climbs on the difficult rock.

I only know of two people stupid enough, errr, bold enough to have even tried. I'm sure theres more. I forgot one guys name, but he was suggesting we finish his unfinished line up lil 3 finger Jack at Smith, I remember now..ahhhh here it is : Brain Holcolm I think did it. Maybe with Bob Caldwell??? And perhaps Wayne Wallace as well??? Wayne posts on Cascadeclimbers.com as Wayne111, and a buddy of mine said there was an artical about him in last months Alpinist about some recent uber hard traverse he did, so he's still around and you can ask him about it yourself (since I have faulty brain waves and don't really know for sure if he did do it anyway, and I'm sure he knows a hell of a lot more about it than I would anyway, even if he didn't climb it).

Good luck with the documentation - love to hear your full story about it Don.
