I'm going to be heading down to Smith on Saturday for the first time this year. It finally looks like it'll be warm and dry enough to get a worthwhile weekend out of it, although I'm sure camping is going to be freezing.

Has anyone been out much this week? What's it been like?

I'm not going to be at Smith, but myself and many others will be a Hell's Canyon this weekend it's a little more driving time but it is well worth the drive. I'll be setting routes on Friday, but climbing Sat/Sun come join us and climb at one of the best Sport Crags in The Northwest! You could almost call it a Oregon Crag but it's in Idaho. ;-)

I've heard there's some great development going on out there. How much has been put up so far?

Heh, I didn't even think to check this site.

I'd love to get out there sometime this Spring. I would guess that it's incredibly hot down in that canyon during the Summer though.

Well You just missed one Great weekend! Temps in the 60s at the base of the South Flat Iron. I was able to send two new routes of mine and got on 4 other brand new ones. It just can't get any better and it's all right in the summer the heat kills off the Scorpions.
Just let me know when you do want out of your zone.:)

Heh, well it was a hell of a weekend down at Smith. Saturday was a tad windy in the afternoon, but it was bright sunshine all day long. The crowds vanished on Sunday, and despite some early clouds it was in the high 50s all day until sunset. F'ing cold camping though...
