Anyone care to venture a guess as to what snow conditions are shaping up like for late June?

I know that's a hard question, but has the winter snowfall been above or below average?

Thanks,
James

Echo Peaks from Cathedral Peak.

We've been having a pretty big snow year, so I would guess that some of the alpine stuff may take a bit to melt off.

What goes up must come down

They are saying that certain areas of Colorado are at 165% of normal. With global warming it should all be gone by early march this year...

Okay, so June is a lot closer now. How are snow conditions on Hood and Adams looking?

Tree well at North Lake, at 4'000 feet in the columbia gorge wilderness. Note the ski pole is 4' long, thus the snow pack is close to 7' deep.

gotta even watch out for crevasses!

Okay, bump for specific information with two weeks to go...

Does anyone know how far the snow is downhill from Cold Spring campground on Mt. Adams?

Has anyone seen the conditions on near the top of the South Side on Hood recently?

Has anyone been up the Cooper Spur on Hood lately?

Thanks

self portrait from on top of pingora

I was at Cooper Spur on May 15 and there was about 5' on the ground. I'd guess its down to 2-3' by now.

I was XC skiing 6 to 8" of fresh snow at 5,000' on Adams yesterday! And it was snowing hard at noon...

Road is closed FIVE miles FROM cold springs. There are places during the last few miles to cold springs that have over eight feet of snow on the road, judging from the tree wells.

Okay, last bump I swear. We're flying out Saturday morning. Any more recent updates?
