| There is bouldering up in the grapefruit areas North of Fairbanks. Also, there is bouldering South of Nenana going towards Denali National Park. These bouldering areas are not world class by any standards as the crags in Fairbanks environs do not contain large clean boulders. One will encounter a lot of cleaning, and primarily, a sharp gritty limestone quality. However, the boulders going towards Denali are of a better quality and have not really been documented; a committed and ambitious climber will most likely find (and clean) some hidden treasures in these areas. Consult 'The Fairbanks Area Climbing Guide' which can be purchased at Beaver Sports in Fairbanks for more info. Climb safe. | FLAG |
