Hi, I need some suggestions on some really cool day hikes around the area between Mt. Hood and Mt. Rainier. I have my two main climbs set, but I don't know the area that well. Any ideas? I may spend a day or two in Mt. Rainier NP, but not too sure yet.

I also need to know where some decent (or really cool) campgrounds are between Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams. I know I won't have issues with Mt. Rainier NP. I've been there before, but I don't know the area around south at all.

Thanks

It would be worth seeing Mt. St. Helens national monument and doing one of the longer day hikes there. that place is amazing. also, you may want to check on trail conditions at mt. rainier. after last november's horrendous storm (17" rain in 36 hours), many of the roads and trails were washed out. their website ought to give the current status.

the mt. adams area is incredible as well. you can dayhike around there, or even climb adams via the south spur route in a long, long day, via a non-technical snow slope, that also makes a good ski descent. near adams is the goat rocks area, which has some nice hikes as well. honestly, it's all good in the cascades!
